"Artist's  Statement"
DATO
DENMARK

For those who have kept the pace up since the beginning of the graf since here in Denmark,  in the early 80's ('83, '84, '85) it means everything. It's a life style and you live it wild style, 100%!

Everything you do is graffiti all the time. Myself, I started in late '84 after I saw the movie Style Wars and still today there won't be a day where I'm not thinking "how can I improve and get better with my letters and colors?" cuz that's what it's all about, colors and letters. The reason I paint is to satisfy my creative side. I do it for myself and for myself only.  When I've not painted for awhile I get mad and frustrated. So I do it to keep calm.

About the future in graffiti... well, I don't know. It's hard to look into the future but I hope that graffiti will stay in the streets, down the tracks, on the trains where this art form belongs.

After the beginning here in Denmark, graffiti slowed down and all the toys was out there; those who only painted when it was fashionable to do graf.  I'm glad that I kept doing my pieces in those years when it was not smart to do so. I think that's what separates the mice from the men.  If you are true to the scene and yourself, you can't go wrong. It will only make you stronger. I've painted now for 13 years and there is no stopping in sight. And for all you newcomers out there, build your skills before talkin' shit. Remember, it's what you do in your life. Whatever you do, do it to the best of your ability!  If you are not the best in graf, find your purpose and be the best at that, cuz' the hip-hop scene has 4 major skills, and it's important to master at least one of them. And to those who thought, that graffiti died, a wise man once said, "Graffiti don't die, it just fades away..."
